Ask a Freemason is a website and forum that aims to educate interested people about the fraternity, and to point them in the direction of a lodge near them if they want to join or learn more. They also have a very well done “frequently asked questions” section too.
Bailey’s Buddy is a blog written by Bro. Jay Simser, a past master from Arcadia Lodge #249 in Ames, Iowa. This blog is about more than just Masonry but has several masonic-related posts each week. His list of links to other Masonic blogs and websites are also useful for finding information about the fraternity, lodges, and more in the state of Iowa and beyond.
North Star Lodge news
There has been lots of degree work in North Star Lodge and Twilight Lodge recently. We will be getting some pictures of newly made brothers in the lodge soon. Check the calendar frequently for upcoming degrees, stated meetings and more.
At the last stated meeting on March 8, two petitions were voted on and passed. Joey Moorberg and Greig Frates will be joining the lodge and will be starting their degree work soon. Greig will go through his first degree on March 16 along with a candidate from Twilight Lodge #329. The meeting will open at 7:00 pm. Other dates for degree work will be announced soon.
The lodge’s annual Soup and Pie Dinner will be held on April 10 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. All are welcome to join us. Tickets are available from a brother of the lodge, or at the door. We hope to see you there!
North Star Lodge has a new web address. It is now http://northstarlodge447.org. The website is still maintained using WordPress but we now have our own domain. Fellow masonic lodge members and webmasters, please link your page to our page and we will return the favor. If you have any comments or questions about the website please let us know.
Hello! For those of you just seeing this website you probably won’t notice anything new. However we had added many new pages, features, and information. This “News” page is the “blog” portion of the website. News about upcoming events, reports on past events, and newsletters from the worshipful master will be posted here. If you have any comments about the website please contact the webmaster or officers. Don’t get too used to the web address though; we will soon be buying a URL so keep tuned in to future changes to the website. Thanks for stopping by.
